Finance management consists of planning, directing, monitoring, organizing, and controlling monetary resources of an organization.
Fundraising is a process of raising funds or receiving donations in kind by means of requesting individuals, businesses, charities or the government to provide support. Fundraising is based on networking; it requires a fundraiser’s ability to develop connections between donors and people in need, as well as demonstrating creativity and transparency in establishing and maintaining relations with them.
The seminar is dedicated to bishops, treasurers, provincial, mothers provincial and persons responsible for finance in dioceses. During the sessions, we will consider the following aspects:
- daily and long-term financial planning,
- sustainable financial management,
- independence and solidarity in financial matters.
We will also cover such topics as the methods of raising social trust towards philanthropic activities; selected fundraising tools for charity. Another important issue which we would like to discuss is the reasonable and appropriate use of financial support and donations in kind that we receive to perform our activities and educate local communities about their responsibility for their own projects. Apart from this, we will learn how to organise a professional development and fundraising office; the competences required from a person running such an office will be considered.
During our sessions, we will offer practical activities focused on drafting a particular grant application.
The Seminar will take place in the European Centre of Communication and Culture (ECCC) in Warsaw on November 16 – 19, 2020. All the seminar expenses, as well as costs of accommodation and catering are fully covered by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
